I’ve never really been to Toledo. By that I mean walking the streets of Toledo, Ohio. One peculiar night en route to Los Angeles from New York via D.C.. to Pittsburgh and beyond by rail, I awoke and looked out to see a sign shaking above in the wind and it read TOLEDO in uppercase white. I had never walked Toledo by day or night but was parked in it on a train "Amtrak Southwest Chief" that was immobile. That’s all I remember about Ohio. That TOLEDO sign.
