There are actors in roles you know you would have liked a lot in person like John Cassavetes in “Hitchcock Presents”: You Got to Have Luck as Sam Cobbett, an escaped convict. Corbett is a little short guy who is sexy both unshaven and shaven with a tall order as far as bad guys go. Though he's in a desperate rush to flee the country, he takes time to demand a meal of three eggs and coffee from a housewife who cooks and follows his commands out of fear. Sam likes this woman, the so-called protagonist, because it's been so long since he's known any woman. Married or unmarried. He doesn't care. As the story unfolds you care more about what’s happening to Sam than the woman. Sam has no mercy as a convicted bank robber and a cold-blooded murderer who’s not afraid to kill again. Without a doubt, he enjoys intimidating the young woman whose peculiar handicap, unknown to Cobbett, threatens to put him right back in the slammer where he started. |
