New York's Skyscraper Museum web site now features an interactive timeline on the history of height from the Great Pyramid of Giza to today's reigning megatall, the Burj Khalifa. On a mission to share the "what and why of tall buildings," the new visual tool offers a scrollable stream of "flashcards" that trace the highest structures of different eras. While the infographic makes sure to include iconic buildings like the Eiffel Tower and Chicago's Marina City, it also highlights zoning laws such as engineering breakthroughs, and other key developments in the evolution of the skyscraper.
