After testifying for the defense at Martha Marceau's murder trial and clearing Martha of Rick Oliver's murder, a disturbed Orin Hillyer leaves the witness stand and reminds the court that the real murderer, his late wife Laura Hillyer who was Rick Oliver's lover, is dead. The realization of Laura's death finally sinks home. Nodding his head, he starts to shake as he stops in his tracks and his eyes widen in silent horror. "My wife," he repeats, "is dead..." He starts to choke, then collapses as the defense and baliff rushes over to man now lying on the floor like a dead man. A startled courtroom buzzes as Orin slips into a comatose state.
